The City has selected a contractor for this project and is working through the contracting process with the Iowa DOT. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in Spring 2023. Stay tuned for more information and communication as we get closer to the start of construction.

The meeting will include a formal presentation featuring exhibits that illustrate planned improvements along the corridor as well as the anticipated schedule. Afterwards the design consultant, along with City staff, will be available to answer any questions you might have regarding the project.

Our project team have been working closely together with the City to implement detailed design standard as well as feedback gathered from public informational meetings and key stakeholders. Over the next few weeks, reviewed plans will be finalized by the design team allowing for the project to launch forward into the bidding/letting phase and adhere to the construction schedule.

The City of Cedar Falls and the project design team cordially invites you to attend the first public informational meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to Main Street. The meeting will feature exhibits that illustrate planned improvements along the corridor and the anticipated schedule. Property owners/residents are invited to hear updates on the design progress, learn more about the proposed improvements, and ask questions related to the project.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the Cedar Falls Community Center, 528 Main Street, Cedar Falls, IA 50613.
The meeting will include a formal presentation at the onset and afterwards the design consultant along with City staff will be available to answer any questions you might have regarding the project for the remainder of the meeting time.

A public hearing on a proposal to undertake a public improvement project for the Main Street Reconstruction project and to authorize acquisition of private property has been scheduled to be held at the City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 18th, 2021, at Cedar Falls City Hall. At that meeting the City Council will hear any comments from the public and will take action to proceed, if approved.
